Play it Forward

Playing in nursing homes is a great win-win experience.  They love it, and you'll become a better musician, and you'll drive home happier than you can imagine.

Play it Forward can help you do it.  Regardless of your instrument, what songs you play, or how good you are, you  can rock the nursing home.

"Connection beats  Perfection"

Over the past years, other musicians have asked how to get started.  They have hesitations and misconceptions. They are unsure about what equipment to bring, what to play, how to make contact, and what to say before, during, or after they play.  So they don't.  They continue just to play at home, but they never get around to sharing.

Play it Forward tries to answer questions like these.  Our goal is to help pave the way for you to either dip your toe into playing nursing home shows or to dive right in and have a great experience.

Most musicians don't think they're good enough to play out as a solo act or as a duo -- but they're more than good enough.

If you have a heart that wants to connect with a nursing home audience, let Play it Forward help you.  We've put together tip sheets, videos,  sample set lists, fliers, template letters,  and sample demos of various entertainers who can give you ideas of what you might want to do.

We're looking forward to hearing about the happy success you'll have.

Our original Rock the Nursing Home workshop was three hours long and is described here in the Ithaca Times.   Although we still hold a quarterly workshop, we've shortened the workshop because we put all of the content online  to help musicians from all over.
